CCEEers Inspired by Poetry

Lois has an inspiration challenge for the CCEEers this week.....and here it is.....

Lois here with my final challenge of the month.  April is National Poetry Month, and today is Poem in Your Pocket Day.  I'm asking that you create a card using a poem as your inspiration.

I used Joyce Kilner's poem, Trees' as my inspiration.  In grammar school we had to memorize poems and this was one of the poems we learned.  Unfortunately I only remember the first few lines now.  My second choice would have been e.e. cummings 'in Just spring', another favorite poem.

I used this tree stamp ( I think it is by Penny Black) along with the sentiment from MFT.  I also used an oval die from Cottage Cutz.

Be sure to visit the CCEE Blog to see the inspired creations by the rest of this talented team.

CCEEers Celebrate National Tartan Day

It is a new month so therefore the CCEE Stampers have a new hostess.  Lois is in charge of the challenges for March.  Here is her first challenge for us......

Hi, Lois here starting my month as hostess for the CCEE Stamper challenges.  Tomorrow is National Tartan Day.  I asked the team members to create a card using plaid.

I, like Lois, LOVE plaids.  When I find a paper pack with plaid papers I biy lots....hahaha.....so this challenge was an easy one for me.  Unfortunately, my sister and I have both had need of too many sympathy cards recently, so I am uusing this challenge to replenish my stash of sympathy cards.

I used an image from Cornish Heritage Farms and cut that image panel with a Cottage Cutz die.   I did not write down what set/company the sentiment came from.

Be sure to stop in to see the wonderful plaids the DT used to create their cards/projects.  Visit the CCEE Blog to view them.

CCEE Visits the Arctic

The CCEEers are ready for a new challenge.....and here it is.....

Hello friends!
Kelly here from the DT with my last challenge
~ February has been great fun!

Tuesday (2/27) is Polar Bear Day.
Create a card with a polar bear(s), snow,
or use white as your card’s focal color.

I used a die from Memory Box for the main 'image'.  I then cut one polar bear from a die cut border by Penny Black to add to the scene.  I then used a die to cut out the sentiment.  Easy Peasie you would think.....but I made many wrong choices along the way so this simple card took me forever.....loL!!!

Be sure to visit the CCEE Blog to see the array of polar bear cards.

Crazy for Tigers

Maryann continues as the Crazy4Challenges hostess for July.  Here is her challenge for this week.....

Hi everyone,

Welcome to another Crazy challenge.  Maryann Einam our challenge hostess for the month is back with one last challenge.

Before we get into this week's challenge we would like to thank our Guest Designer for the month Kristine Reynolds for playing along with us again this month.

Now let's get onto this week's challenge .....

According to the days of the year Calendar today is International Tiger Day. Create a card using the colours Orange, Black and White for your theme.

As you can see, I went with the colors.  I first sponged my sky with various distress inks in the honey and orange colors.  I then used my Misti to stamp my Stamp Camp forest image several times to get the black as deep as possible.  I then layered the main image and added the sentiment.
Be sure to check out the tigers and tiger colors on the DT creations at the Crazies Blog.

CCEEers Reach to the Moon, Stars, and Beyond

Maryann continues as our CCEE Stampers challenge this week.  Here is her challenge.....

Another day on the days of the year Calendar is Moon and Space Exploration day, use this theme to inspire your card.

I stayed a bit closer to Earth and went with the moon.  I did masking and sponging to create the sky using my cloud template.  I then stamped the Cornish Heritage Farms tree image and extending its base by sponging black ink.  I layered it, added piercing and a sentiment.

Be sure to go to the CCEE Blog to see the other wordly creations by the rest of the team....most of whom went deeper into space tha I did.

The Crazies Visit the Park

Maryann Einem is our July hostess for the Crazy4Challenges DT.  Here is this week's challenge.....

According to the Days of the year Calendar today is Hop a Park Day - using stamps, dies or both create a scene or something you may see in a park.

Around here, many of our parks are forests withh lots of rocks left by the glaciers.  In the lakes, ponds, and riverways, many people boat, kayak, and swim.

I used image stamps from Stampscape and a sentiment stamp from WOW.

Be sure too visit the Crazies Blog to see the fab park creations by the rest of the DT.
