CCEEers Stick to One Color

Anne Harmon is back as the August hostess with the mostest for the CCEE Stampers Challenge.  Here is her challenge for us this week.......

I once hostessed a challenge on SCS, asking our fellow crafters to make a one color card, and using only die cuts (you can also use punches).  The results were wonderful.  Let's do that again!

I am still using virgin supplies in my stamp cave....and probably could do so for at least a year or two....lol!!!  When I was out of commission due to surgery, somehow I could still be tempted to buy, buy, buy........!!!  Today I used a die by Creative Expressions (Sue Wilson).  I added a scribbled die cut flower and leaf (my only cheat.....) which are from Ellen Hutson.  This card will probably go to my gift card stash I am building up for birthdays and holidays.

Cheers from the Crazies

The inside sentiment says,,,,,
"So relatively speaking you are a spring chicken."

Rachel continues as the Crazy4Challenges August hostess.....and here is her challenge for the week....

This is my last challenge as hostess for the month of August.  I want to thank our guest designer Fran Sabad for playing along with us crazies.

The theme is Back to School!  All the summer fun has come to an end for teachers and students.  Let's make a card to help cheer someone up, any cheerful theme or image will do.

This card is meant to cheer up someone who is reaching a milestone birthday.  The image is from Art Impressions (I think).  The sentiment is from WOW.

CCEEers Create Their Backgrounds

Anne Harmon continues as the CCEE Stampers Challenge hostess for August.  Here is her challenge for this week.....

Make a background using water colors, then finish the card in whatever way you wish.

I watercolored a white piece of cardstock and then added a touch of spray distress ink.  I then used a Tim Holtz corner die along with a 'hello' die cut to finish this off......along with some layers.

Sketch Time with the Crazies

It is the third Crazy4Challenges challenge for the month, so our hostess, Rachel, has a great sketch for us to play with this week.

I flipped the sketch and moved the placement of the sentiment.  I did a spotlighting creation where you only color a section or sections of the image.  I added a sentiment from the same stamp set.

Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see the various interpretations of this week's sketch.

Nautical Creations by the CCEE

Anne Harmon is our hostess with the mostest this month.  Here is her challenge for the CCEE Stampers and YOU......

As the summer draws to a close, make a card with a nautical theme.  This can include the beach if you so desire.

I used a Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set for the image and sentiment.  I dry embossed the background and used designer paper for the horizontal panel.  I uused my Misti to get a nice dark image, and then sponged on the inks.

Be sure to check out the nautical creations at the CCEE Stampers Blog.

Crazies Go Monochromatic

Rachel is back as the August Crazy4Challenges hostess.  Here is her challenge for this week...

.Hello, it's Raquel again.  The theme this month is monochromatic.  The team is making cards that has different shades of one color.

I chose to play with pinks.   I used a stencil to sponge in the big bloom.  I added a birthday sentiment and then pierced around the unstamped edges of the base.

I can't wait to see the monochromatic creations by the rest of this DT.....hope you will travel to the Crazies Blog to see them for yourself.

CCEE Gets Buggy

Anne Harmoon continues as our August hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenge.  Here is her challenge for this week.....

This week the topic is insects.  My challenge to you is to make a card using bees, dragonflies, any kind of insect.  Be sure to add some stickles to their wings (if they have wings!).

In my neverending quest to use virgin supplies, I managed to use virgins to create all the elements of the card.  I used a die to create the outer frame in gold cardstock.  I also die cut the dragonfly with a SU die.  I heat embossed a Joy stamp for my floral element.  I did NOT use the stickles, but I think the shiny gold cardstock gives a glimmer all its own.

Crazies Celebrate Summer

A new month of Crazy4Challenges and a new hostess.....here she is with this week's challenges....

It's a new month and that means a new hostess and guest designer. My name is Raquel Mason and I will be your hostess this month.  Our guest designer is Fran Sabad.

Let's kick the month of August off with a Summer Fun challenge!  Let's keep it simple for the summer and make a bright and cheerful card.

When I think of summer, it is definitely the ocean I think about.....thus the topic of my card this week.  The Stamp Oasis grass/sand stamp began the design.  To that I added a masked sun, a templated sky, and a torn paper sponged sea.  I then used a Spellbinder diamond die to cut and emboss the main panel.  In the background I did dry emboss the background with a sandlike pattern.

Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see the summertime creations by the rest of this team.

CCEEers Emboss Away.....

Anne Harmon is the August hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenge.  Here is her challenge for the first week.....

Hi!  This is Anne Harmon, and I will be your hostess for the month of August.

For our fist challenge, I ask you to use any technique that involves embossing - wet, dry, resist - whatever appeals to you.

I have been trying to use items I bought and never used.  This week I used two virgins......the JustRite die cut and the Ellen Hutson scribble flowers.  The base panel was dry embossed with a floral spray embossing folder.   I also rounded corners with my Marvy ccorner rounder punch and used a sentiment from MFT.

Be sure to check out the fabulous embossed creations by this very talented team at tge CCEE Blog.
